For locksmiths who prefer to order their wholesale car keys via fax or phone, Advanced Keys is available Monday to Friday during office hours. Orders can be paid for by credit/debit card and if received before 12 noon, the parts will be packed and posted out the same day where possible.

Since 1994 most vehicle manufacturers have fitted various types of alarms/immobilisers to their vehicles in
response to Government reports on increased car theft.
Advances in technology have driven improvements in vehicle security systems which although good for
crime statistics, these advances pose challenges for vehicle owners and locksmiths/technicians involved in
aftermarket diagnostics.
Most vehicle keys are fitted with a transponder (chip) which is a small electronic device that will fit into the
head of the key or onto the circuit board of the central locking remote control. This transponder holds a
code which is transmitted to the vehicle's immobiliser and if correct will allow the vehicle to be started and
to continue running. Transponder technology has developed and later systems use rolling (cryptographic)
codes to improve the security of the system.
All work associated with transponders/immobilisers was originally retained in the VM dealers. However,
aftermarket equipment is currently available which allows copying of transponders and complete
programming into the vehicle systems.

One of the critical components of an immobiliser system is the coil or antenna fitted around the ignition
barrel. When diagnosing problems with the immobiliser system, there is always the question of "is the
immobiliser antenna transmitting a correct signal to power the key transponder". Now by using the AD30
Transponder Coil Detector or the AD35 Transponder Coil and Remote Control Detector this question can
be quickly and easily answered, saving valuable time and money.
The AD30 or AD35 is placed near the ignition barrel in the steering column and provides a visual and
audible indication of antenna power. Additionally on certain vehicles, by switching the ignition on, a further
indication of a transponder signal being sent by the ignition key and received by the antenna can also
provided.
The AD35 can also check that radio frequency remote controls are operating correctly by displaying the
frequency of the signal being transmitted.
The AD30 or AD35 is an essential addition to your tool kit that will earn its keep within a few jobs.
The ADC116 OBD Diagnostic Port Tester is the easiest and quickest way to check that the OBD port has a 12 Volt supply and good ground connections. It also checks the PIN 7 line on VW/Audi/Seat/Skoda vehicles to make sure that, if an aftermarket radio is fitted, the system is wired correctly. If connected incorrectly, any diagnostic equipment that is connected to it could be harmed. A great cost effective time saver and stops damage to diagnostic equipment.
